Our Story

The IDEAL PDX  is a  collaborative group of Latino artists accomplish new projects displaying individual Visual and Performing Artists in the Northwest.

IDEAL PDX GROUP is committed to elevating community values by humanizing and invigorating shared spaces through the transformative power of public art. In addition, we aspire to promote healthy living and environmental sustainability. Our work is relevant and responsive to connect to people respectfully. A sense of place fosters a unified spirit, cohesion, and well-being.

Our mission is to expand and include artists from Latino America around the State of Oregon to provide professional development that will strengthen the artists’ integration into our local economy. In addition, we look for open spaces for exhibitions and collaborative, work as a group.

Over the years, The Center for the Arts - Portland 5 -  has been the principal sponsor since 2014; more than 50 local artists who identify as Latinos have exhibited their work in this space, and each year artists have the opportunity to sell and present their work from different disciplines at our annual festival and market, EL TRUEQUE.
